Skin Rejuvenation Q & A

What is skin rejuvenation?

Yorktown Health is an OB/GYN practice dedicated to meeting all of your health and wellness needs. Skin rejuvenation is one of the many services offered at the premier women’s health practice.

The team uses the advanced Juliet laser for skin rejuvenation. The system has a special laser light that produces positive results with fewer side effects.

The skin rejuvenation tool uses a two-step process to get the desired results. During the first pass of the laser, the energy ablates the skin and creates micro injuries in the skin’s surface.

During the second pass of the laser, the thermal energy causes the cells in your skin to tighten, which lifts and smooths out the outer layer. The thermal energy also stimulates your skin’s natural healing process.

What conditions benefit from skin rejuvenation?

The team at Yorktown Health offers skin-rejuvenation treatments to address many common beauty concerns.

Some of the conditions that benefit from the Juliet laser include:

  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Acne scars
  • Acne

The team uses the Juliet laser to rejuvenate the skin on your face and body.

They also offer vaginal revitalization with the Juliet laser system.

What can I expect during skin rejuvenation?

Skin rejuvenation at Yorktown Health is an in-office treatment. Before starting your procedure, your provider applies a numbing cream to your skin to minimize discomfort.

Then, your provider uses the Juliet laser handpiece to deliver the heat energy to get the desired results.

What happens after skin rejuvenation?

Your skin may look and feel mildly sunburned after your skin-rejuvenation treatment. Your provider at Yorktown Health offers aftercare recommendations to manage the side effects and promote healing.

Within three to five days, the surface of your skin should start to slough off, revealing the younger, healthier skin underneath. As your skin’s healing process continues, you should notice improvements in the look and tone of your skin over the next several weeks.

Most patients only need one skin-rejuvenation session to achieve their beauty goals. However, your provider at Yorktown Health may suggest a series of treatments if needed.

To schedule your skin-rejuvenation consultation at Yorktown Health, call the office or book an appointment online today.
